Although some information on the internet and on some family charts (the family information admitted there could be mistakes) indicate that John Richard McKay was son of John McKay and Mary Favell, on the back of a family tree for John Richard McKay and Harriet Ballenden someone wrote a chart in pen on the back (I do not know who wrote it). This McKay Family Tree was copied July 15, 1944 from original date of January 21, 1884. Whoever wrote this, possibly based on faulty sources or memory, wrote John McKay and E. Favell (assuming I am reading the E. correctly). The parents of John McKay are listed as Donald McKay and Elspeth Kennedy (internet articles throw debate on this). Initially the person appeared to write John McKay and Edith Favell as Donald McKay's parents. The person then crossed this out and wrote John McKay and E. Favell below Donald and Elspeth as if they were the parents of John Richards McKay. Since some of the writing is tough to read I am not sure if the E. Favell is Edith Favell or possibly another name beginning with E.

If anyone has information as to who the E. Favell is and whether she could really be the mother of John Richards McKay, feel free to respond at or by posting a message.
