Deborah:
Below is the bare bones of that lineage.

Harry Tipsword and wife Ursa can be found in the 1930 census living in Union, Cumberland CO, IL with four children: Glenna L age 12, Merle W. age 8, John F. age 5 and Bobby D age 3. Son Ronald came after this born on 28 July 1934 and d on 16 May 2008 in Hogansville, Troup CO, GA.

Harry was the son of John W. Tipsword and his wife Linnie A. They are in the 1900 census living in Union, Cumberland CO, IL iwth four children:
Grace A b. Oct 1895
Marlin O b. Oct 1895
Harry b. Oct 1897
Lethea b. March 1900

(I think the name of the wife needs to be checked out and confirmed.)

John William Tipsword was the son of Isaac Tipsword and his wife Nancy Standberry who were married 9 Feb 1864 in Coles CO, IL. That Isaac Tipsword was the son of John Tipsword who was married to Frances Carlyle c 1827 in Fayette CO, IL. John Tipsword was the son of Griffin Tipsword and his wife Ruth and that takes you back to the source of the Indian lore. Griffin Tipsword was the son of a man named Isaac Soward from the eastern shore of Maryland and from a very English and caucasian family. His wife was Miliston Vanderford of the Vanderford family that settled New York City when it was New Amsterdam. To find the exact parentage of Miliston would be infinitely more interesting than Indian myths that can never be substantiated. Griffin Tipsword lived around Indians in southern IL. You can google his name and come up with that information.

I will put all of this into my Tipsword database. I have more information on the Tipswords. There was a name change from Seaward to Soward to Tipsword. Feel free to e-mail me at pamelajanez@gmail.com
