Betty, Sue, and Richard -- I want to thank each of you for the information and suggestions you've provided. Unfortunately I don't have access myself to a copy of Word 2000 so I can't work with that version of Word directly. I'm communicating with the fellow I'm trying to assist via telephone so I haven't been able to poke around on the machine he's actually using. Richard, I would imagine Word 2000 has a "Find" and "Find next" feature which would be of some help in creating an index, though it's not an indexing feature strictly speaking. But I imagine you already know about that feature. Or perhaps I'm mistaken and "Find" wasn't yet included in Word 2000, but I think that's unlikely. If I discover that Word 2000 really has an indexing feature I will post back with that information. I do plan to do a bit more research online to see if I can find an open source indexing program that may be useful or possibly a commercial package that isn't too pricey. If I do find additional useful software or other helpful Word features I will post back here. Again, thank you all for your help. Notify Administrator about this message?
