possible early 1800's Native American ancestor in New York

I was told a few years from a distant cousin that one of our common ancestors was possibly 1/2 Iroquois. Our ancesor (Deborah Cash) lived in the Greene County area of New York. She was born around 1810. She was married to Eli Bray. Our family did not know of this story, but hers did. How can I find information for one who lived that far back. What type of records if any did were there?

Thanks,
Betty
