Cathy:
Sorry to be so long in getting back to you, I did this in 1993. First, watch out for the I.G.I. especialy after 1988.
I ran into the problem you did on the Sarah's.I have five children of Joseph Tipping and Sarah, Thomas ch)10/13/1822, Elizabeth,ch)9/30/1824, Thomas,ch)12/18/1831, Alice,ch)1/8/1837, and Samuel,ch)2/10/1839. Of these five children ,all were born in the same town, christened in the same church, and the baptism records all show the father to be a cordwainer(shoemaker). The marraige certificate for Joeseph Tipping and Sarah eady show him to bea bachlor and she a spinster. The marriage of Sarah Barlow was3 Jan. 1822 and the first of the five children was christened 13 Oct 1822. Assuming two months birth to christening it woul mean she was expecting whe she was wed,not too unusual. So I fell 1) two Sarah's, 2) Eady Eady was the first wife and died and Sarah Barlow was the second wife.
Now to Alice Tipping. My Alice was born in 1835(by IGI) in Aston -Under-Lyne(by my mother) and by IGI was christened 1/8/1837 in Manchester Cathedral, Lancashire county (now Greater Manchester County).Ido not have Alice's mariage date, but somewhere I say it was in Stockport England. Somewhere along the line they settled in MA. USA. after Joseph died she went to CT. USA. Her death certificate says she was 81and died in 1926 which woud have made her birth date 1845.Are there 2 Alice's. out of room. Curtis ([email protected]) for e-mail
