Uriah Tippie born on July 16,1759 in Monmouth co. New Jersey, and died June 27, 1848 in ames, Athens Co. ohio.
During the revoultionary war he served as follows: Penn. Archives, series 5, volume8, pg. 314:Uriah Tippie, private 6th co.,?4th battalion, Northampton___militia. May 14, 1778. Capt. Hohn Ralstone....Col. John Sidfried.
Penn. archives series 5, volume 8., pg. 375: Uriah Tippie, volunteer Northampton co., Penn. In the service of Capt. John Van Etten, June 15th, 1780. Lt. Col. Jacob Stroud.
Penn. archives, series 5, volume 8, pg. 269; Capt. John Gregory's Co., Lt. Col. Phil Bean, Capt. W. Patterson, Capt. Frederick coons: Patriet furnished substitute...John Couts Wagoner.
Pension no. 32923,Uriah Tippie, File W. 25487(or 25987). Offical roster of revolutionery soldiers buried in Ohio, page 370.
He was living in Buckles County,PA, at the time of his enlistment. He served at least four terms.
Application to DAR,submitted By Gertrude May Buck Vliet, GGGGD of Uriah tippie dated May 6, 1932.
but the info i have doesn't say if she was accepted or not. so this might not help much. good luck and let me know what happens.
