if you can't get there thru the url, google 'descendants of william tipping esq' and you will find the site. lots of missouri tippens are covered.

i found the site in 2004, but couldn't tie my family to the info back then. lots and lots of tippen info, and neat little gems like this:

Matthew Tippen <1858> Stoddard County Missouri Farm Laborer

Married Margaret Jame Masters at the residence of the bride, which is in Pike Township, Stoddard County, Missouri.

In the Stoddard County Divorce Index Book M, p.195 on 11.19.1890, Matthew and Margaret's divorce was dismissed.

'1900 Lawrence County, Arkansas census, Margaret is a widow with 2 children, George and David Richard. It has been told that Margaret was down and out and packed a few belongings, took a stick and dropped it to the ground and said which ever way this stick points is the way we will go. She took off walking and the two boys, Richard eiding his bicycle and George was riding on the handle bars of the bike. They walked and rode the bicycle to Lawrence County, Arkansas.'

Child of Matthew Tippen and Margaret Masters:
George Washington Tippen <tippins> Hefner, b. 6.13.1890 d.5.22.1971, Lawrence County, Arkansas.
