Please note that my e-mail has changed to kayredmann@cox.net.

One of my great-grandfathers is Alexander Mebane who had a daughter named Mary Mebane who married Richard Stanford who was a member of Congress from late 1700's to early 1800's.

If anyone has any verification of this information to verify the fact that Alexander Mebane had a daughter named Mary Mebane I would appreciate it. I would also appreciate it if someone knew the name of his wife.

I think Alexander Mebane was born in Orange county, N.C. 26 November 1744; died there, 5 July, 1795. His father of the same name, as I understand it, came from the north of Ireland to Pennsylvania, but removed to Orange county, N.C., before the Revolution.

I would appreciate any information you can give me.
