Siblings Eva M. b 31 Mar 1849 d 26 Apr 1851; Ellen b 20 Jul 1850 never married; with her sisters when I met her in San Diego in 1936 (yeah, I was young and she was old); Merritt J. b 23 Sep 1852, worked in Sauk Co. till 1876 when he homesteaded in Grand Meadow Minnehaha Co. Dakota Terr., m. Izero E. Knowles 29 Jan 1879; Myra Evelyne d 27 Jan 1859 at age 3 yrs & 5 days; Jane (usually Jennie) b 13 Jun 1861, teacher & principal, m James N. Parents of George T. Tinkham: Ransom b 25 Jul 1821 Waitsfield VT, worked in fatherís blacksmithy, in 1845 to Sauk Co. WI where lumbered and farmed, m Mary L. Pease 19 Apr 1848 in Waitsfield and returned to Lyons (West Baraboo) homestead. Mary d 14 Dec 1866, charging her daughter Ellen to bring up the family, which she did (rather than marrying). Ransom d 14 Jun 1894.

Parents of Ransom Tinkham: Thomas Tinkham (1795-1888), b Windsor VT lived Waitsfield VT at least 1819-1850, and Sarepta Savage (d. 1862)

This takes you to the main-line Tinkham genealogies: Thomas was in Generation 6 counting from immigrant Ephraim. I can provide a great deal more, and sources; contact me at RogPete@aol.com.

You ask also about Henry H. Tinkham. Ransomís uncle Jacob T. (1797-1871; my g-g grandfather) followed Ransom by a year to Sauk Co. and farmed in Excelsior Tp. 1846-1870. One of his 7 children was Hiram Wesley T. (1833-1900), who farmed Baraboo Tp. Sec. 27. Of his 6 children known to me, Henry H. T. was the only one to remain in Sauk Co.. for decades he drove locomotives for the C&NW.
