Peter Tinkham married Mercy Mendall. They had a daughter named Mercy Tinkham, pp. 4,5,6,9,10

Peter Raymond married Christiana MacHaan, pp. 27, 89, 90. Couple had a daughter named Mercy Raymond. Mercy Raymond was born 6/3/1740 in Middlesboro, Massachusetts, to her parents who later lived in Newerk, Essex County, New Jersey.
In 1760 Mercy Raymond married Jonas Bedford in Elizabethtown, New Jersey, where Jonas had been born in 1735. Mercy Raymond and Jonas Bedford, her husband, moved to Rutherford County, North Carolina, in 1759. Couple had children, one of whom was Raymond Bedford in Rutherford County, NC. Raymond Bedford married Patsy Hawkins there. Couple had at least one child named Massa Bedford who married William Doggett. This couple had at least one child named Susan Doggett. Susan Doggett married Barnabus "Barney" King, son of James King and named for his grandfather Barney King who was married to Priscilla....

Jonas fought on the British side in the Rev. War, returned to England, leaving his family in Rutherford County, NC. He returned after the War and was later in politics in North Carolina.
