John Tinker was in the Town of York Militia 1757 with other men who settled at Deer Isle (Hancock Co, ME).

John Tinker II of York ME m.1. Elizabeth__ (d.<1771).
ch. chr @ York: Eunice 1750, James Anvil 1752, Olive 1756, John 1757, Josiah 1759 (moved to NH), Lois 1762 (moved to NH). David b. 1763 Deer Isle ended up on Campobello Isl., Charlotte Co. NB.

Does anyone know where these Tinkers came from? Are they connected to the Connecticut Tinkers? A number of CT Tinkers also ended up in Hancock Co.

Thanks in anticipation Joan Rines
