I'm searching for parents of my Great-Grandfather, Mike Shelby Tinkle, b in AR 1872 & d 1901-02 Cushman, AR (Ind. Co.). Was married to Phoebe Elizabeth Barnes & had 2 children: Paul and Julia, my Grandmother. I'm at the office & therefore do not have my info with me so I'll state what I can remember & will send other data to you next week. I found Michael P. Tinkle living with Robert & family in Searcy Co, AR in either 1860 or 1870 census so I'll check that & Robert's wife's name to see if we're on same track. Next find them in Fulton Co. in 1880 census but found M Tinkle, male age 8, which matches my Mike living with Reeves family so that didn't answer my question on his parents. I found P. Curry's info on Fulton Ct. page listing a Mike as son of Robert. I have census info on Michael P. & his descendants in Stone & Izard Ct. beg. with 1900 census & I have the Peace Society article stating that Robert & Michael were members & they were born in TN. Mike Shelby's census data in 1900 states his father was b in MS. There is a Mike Tinkle buried in Reeves Cem. in Izard Ct. & two others--I'll send those names. I have assumed that's Michael P. because relatives have led me to believe that Mike Shelby is buried in unmarked grave in Francis Cem. near Cushman. He spent his married life in Cushman next door to his wife's family. Will gladly share any info with you & will search for whatever you need help with.
