The Timson/Timpson family in America
I currently have the microfiche at my FHC titled "The Timson/Timpson family in America".I looked at it yesterday, its 64 pages long and Ive only gotten to page 9.But I have 2 pages of notes that I wrote just covering those 9 pages. My family starts with Benjamin Timson b. abt. 1755 and died about 1804.I find him first in Maryland in 1775.He is a loyalist in the Revolutionary War and somewhere around 1786 he is in Shelburne Nova Scotia. He marries there, a woman named Elizabeth and has children. One child, John Wilson Timson, is born on board the ship while they are coming back to the US.The ship is a Schooner called Rebecca.Im not sure if the ship docked in Boston or NY.I think it could be Boston and then the family headed to NY from there.Elizabeth is buried in Greenwood Cemetery.Although I couldnt find her listed on their website.Im wondering if anyone else is researching this same family.I dont know where Benjamin was born, but I find him in Maryland first. The book at the FHC says that there is some rumors that suggest that Benjamin was a Stimson and dropped the S somewhere along the line and it also says there is a popular family of Stimsons in Massachusetts.I havent found anything yet.If anyone has info please contact me.
Thanks.
Kim
