Dear Calvin, I might be of some help, or maybe you could be of some help to me. As you can see my last name is Maas, but I am the grandchild of Charles Herman. Being born in 1905 Charles, his brothers, and sisters were placed in an orfanage because his parent's could not take care of them. Soon after young Charles was adopted by a German couple by the name of Maas, yet the orfanage burnt down destroying all of the records. His new mother and father took to their graves any information regarding his former parents. So to this day no one in our family knows any history about my grandfather or his true parents. If this sounds like a connection to your family or you might have any information please reply.
