Timmons Family Genealogy Forum

I'm trying to get information on my grandfater Robert Ray Timmons, born in Battlecreek, MI December 26, 1918. Joanne Layne, grandaughter of Lela Mae, prompted my search when she contacted my dad a few days ago. She has provided a lot of information about his family, but doesn't have a lot on him, specically. Robert died at age 30 when my dad was a baby. We've known nearly nothing about him or his family up until the past few days. In the process of researching, I've found a few postings by Marilyn Filter. I've tried emailing her, but don't know if the address I have is correct. I would love to speak with her. She is the only person I've found so far who would have remembered my grandfather. She mentioned in a posting a few years ago that she remembered an uncle Skip (as she may have called Robert) who was killed in a car accident. My grandfather was in a car accident (in the 1930's sometime I think)but he was not killed. He was seriously hurt, and others were killed, so I think this may be the same story. The story Marilyn mentioned was in the Battlecreek newspaper. She said - kids crossed railroad track on New Years Eve. He was a navy soldier in WWII at the time also, according to Marilyn. If anyone has information on Robert or Marilyn Filter,or this New Years Eve story, please write.
Thanks.
