Sue, I am researching the Timmins family for a friend. I have traced back to a William Timmins (born in Langley, Oldbury) in 1852. He was a boatman (as were lots of Timmins). William married Anne (unknown) around 1871. They had at least 4 children (Prescilla,Isaac,William and Clara) - my friends line continues with Isaac.

I have a copy of the Oldbury 1851 Census, which is slightly too early to find the William Timmins I am after.
I have found a family in 1851 that is very probably William's grand parents (and his father maybe), they are living in Langely, Oldbury. You probably have this census record already.
Noah Timmins, 64, Victualler and coal boatman from Tipton
Sarah, 63, Birmingham
and sons
William 32, Thomas 28, Noah 25, and Abraham 23
(The William and Thomas are the same as in the 1861 census record you posted)

Do you have any information that could link the William Timmins I am after (born Langley, Oldbury in 1852) to any of the sons in this family? An 1861 census with a 9 year old William would be brilliant.
PS. I have manually searched the 1851 census for Oldbury and have made a note of all instances of Timmins if there is any information you would like me to look for.
