I would like to find out more about my great great grandmother Hannah Timmins who married John Cooksey in 1851 in Dudley, Worcester. She is not the Hannah on your list Both thier fathers (William Cooksey and William Timmins) were boat men and so was John Cooksey. As far as I can gather they were canal boats or barges and they could have lived on the boats. My mothers cousin remembers going to see the boat house in Egham nr Staines in Surrey which had Timmins written on it. That was probably thier base. Dudley had a famous tunnel that meant the barge men had to use their legs on the sides to get to the other end. There was no room for horses.

Does anyone know who her mother and father or other relations were?

Christine Binnie
