Elizabeth Griggs was the daughter of Lee Griggs and Elizabeth Skerlock of Lancaster County VA. She was supposedly married to Robert Carter. They lived in Jefferson County VA (now WVA)before moving to Fayette Co, KY in 1811. She died 30 Apr 1819. Their children were Lucy, Ailsie, Elizabeth, Thomas, Sarah, James, Joseph, Edward and John. Edward married Sallie Timberlake, dau of Harfield Timberlake.
Elizabeth's brother Thomas Griggs married Alcey (Alice) Carter dau of Thomas and Anna Carter. This marriage is recorded in Lancaster Co. They had 4 children: Ann, Elizabeth, Mary (who married the same Harfield Timberlake mentioned above) and Thomas.
My wife is decscended through both Edward Carter, son of Elizabeth and Rbt Carter and Mary Griggs, Dau of Thomas Griggs/Alcey Carter.
Does anyone know where and when the marriage of Elizabeth Griggs and Robert Carter took place and more importantly, who were his parents?
