Thanks for all this Audrey. I really can't add anything to it apart from some info I got from somewhere (possibly not very accurate then!) which states that Henry Timberlake (1594), was the son of Henry Timberlake (c.1570) who was also born in Tichford (or Titchfield) Southampton.
Incidentally, Titchfield is fairly close to Southampton, so I suspect that is the correct place - there are no other Tich's in the area. I can find no trace of Chillinge though there is a Chilworth, which is the other side of Southampton from Titchfield, so could not be classed as in the same parish. Chillinge is/was probably either a very small hamlet, or a spelling mistake!
