Hi, Bob. I would recommend that you somehow get a copy of Gayle King Blankenship's excellent book, Families of Warren, Franklin, & Granville Counties, North Carolina, & Virginia Ancestry: King, Tharrington, Shearin, & Timberlake. (I don't know if Gayle has any remaining copies for sale, but her address is given elsewhere in this Forum.) It appears that your brother-in-law descends from the "original" Francis Timberlake, who died in 1727 in Middlesex County, Virginia. You will be very interested in pages 139-146 of Gayle's book. On page 145 she tells us that, in 1819, Ruthe Timberlake, daughter of James Timberlake, married Joseph Pleasants. The children of Joseph and Ruthe (Timberlake) Pleasants are given on pages 145-146. One of them was "Sally," or Sarah. Larry
