Hi Julia. My mother was Grace Tilton Reagan. My grandson inspired me to ask questions about my heritage. I see you've made some progress.
A thread I've unsuccessfully followed is based on something my mother told me. She said that Franklin's father was a missionary among the Cherokees in N.C. and that he may have married one. This may refer to Franklin's grandfather. There were, in the 1830's and beyond "circuit riders" who moved west with the Cherokees. Unfortunately, the Cherokees didn't believe in keeping written records.
