I am seeking information regarding a suspected son of David and Sarah - who moved to Bushwick, Kings County, New York prior to 1810. His name is James Tilton, born about 1780, who married Aletta Robinson. He lived most of his life in Newtown, Queens County, New York. He died in 1868. He had at least eight children:
Margaret (born about 1811)- married Francis White
Frances (born in 1812)
Anna (born in 1815)- married John Stone
One other daugher (born between 1810 and 1820)
David (born in 1819)
Wm. James (born about 1821)
John Jacob (born about 1823) - married Susan Cortelyou
Catherine (born about 1829) - married Aaron Bennet
I am seeking the date/place of James' birth and marriage, and any informatio on Aletta (birth, etc).
James and his family were members of the Bushwick Reformed Church as recorded since 1792.
One of his grandchildren, Charles Tilton, married Cornelia Valentine and lived in Queens for many years.
