Robert,Your great-granddaddy, John Albert Tillis, Sr. was brother to my Grandmother Martha Sylvia Tillis Fogarty.(I think we are second cousins once removed)I believe your great grandmother, Elizabeth Emily Easters is buried in the Fogartyville Cemetery in Manatee County. If you are interested I can check my tombstone photos.
Johm Albert and Martha were the children of Templeton P. Tillis and his wife Martha Smith, the daughter of Millington M. Smith and Sibbiah Woods.
Templeton P. was the son of Tapley Tillis and his wife Ellender.Tapley was born in Columbia County in 1832, according to his Civil war pension applications. He is buried in Royal Palm Cemetery in St. Petersburg.
Tapley was the son of Joseph Tillis and his wife Amelia.Joseph's father was Tapley Tullos from Camden County GA, and Joseph also had abrother,Tapley A. Tillis.
I would suggest you get the book "They called it Fogartyville" by Ollie Z. Fogarty, from Interlibrary Loan through your local public library, as it has a lot of Tillis information in it.
