Obit of Pauline Mitchell Freeman
Peg is the granddaughter of Rebecca Tillis and Stephen Sparkman, daughter of Minnie E. Sparkman and Thomas Mitchell
Mrs Pauline (Peg) Mitchell Freeman,70, of kings Bay Drive, at Crystal River, passed away Friday, Feb. 7, at the Convalescent Center of Gainesville.
She was born in Ocala and attended Crystal River Public Schools.
Mrs Freeman was a circus aerialist and performer and traveled with Ringling Brothers, the Al G. Barnes an Sells-Floto circuses throughout the United States, Canada, France, Spain, New Zeland and Australia.
She and her husband returned to the Crystal River area in 1952, but continued their travels in the entertainment field until their retirement in 1964.
Mrs Freeman was a Protestant.
Surviving are her husband, Arthur E. (Art) Freeman of Crystal River; an aunty Mrs, Luch Sparkman of Dunnellon, and seven cousins, Marion Sparkman of Crystal River, Mrs. L.P. Nicholoson of Dunnellon, Mrs. Judson Hill and Mrs. Nark Max, both of Miami, Mrs. W.R. Abernathy of Pulaski,Tenn; Mrs. James T. Butler of Portland, Ore and Mrs. Gordon Lee of Jacksonville.
A memorial service was conducted Sunday, Feb. 9, at 3p.m. from the chapel of Strickland Funeral Home of Crystal River with Rev. L.B. Thomason officiating and cremation followed.
She died 7 Feb 1969.
