William Tillinghast Family of Albany, N.Y.
Seeking information on the family of William Tillinghast, of Albany, originally from Wickford, R.I. died at Albany, N.Y. in 1881.W.Tillinghast was a member of the firm of Wickes and Tillinghast, manufactorer of sperm oils and at one time engaged in the Malting buisness of Tweedle & Co. of Albany, N.Y.Also involved in Albany banking, and a founding member of the Fort Orange Club.Married in 1859 to Sara Tweedle, daughter of John Tweedle of Albany.Three children: Frederick, William and (un-named)daughter.
Family resided in the Menands area of Albany County during the late 19th. Century.Tillinghast Avenue, now lined with early 20th. Century "Cottage Style" homes is on the State and National Register, known as "Menands Park".Tillinghasts are buried in the Albany Rural Cemetery, Menands, N.Y.Any information on the family, photographs,
