I am related to the Tillery family of Meigs County, Tennessee, which I believe is your family. The names you've mentioned have been told to me also.My great, great, great grandfather was Samuel Thomas Tillery, born around 1848 in Meigs County, TN.He married Tennessee Rinehart.I'm not sure who Samuel's parents were.I have several leads.Samuel was bound out as a child and shows up on the 1860 Meigs County census as bound to William Ingle. So I have yet to find for sure who his parents were. However, one source tells me that the John Tillery that Nancy mentioned was an ancestor of my Samuel.
My Tillery family moved from Meigs County, TN to Saline County, Arkansas.Four brothers moved here first, around 1840, I think. They were Cawfield, Thomas, Samuel and Hugh Tillery. My great, great, great grandfather, Samuel Thomas Tillery, moved to Saline County shortly before 1870.He later moved to Perry County, AR.
I'm writing a Tillery family history book.I expect that it will be complete within 6 months, but maybe not since I'm finding so many more great leads. If we can positively connect your family to mine, I'd love to include your information in my book if you'd let me.(This will be a hard-back book.I'm planning to print around 200 or 300 as of right now.)It sounds like you have a ton of Tillery information! That's great!Would you share it with me?I understand if you don't want to share the information since I'll be printing it to share will all the Tillery family. Please email me at [email protected]'m anxious to hear from you! Thanks!Patty
