Hi Sallie,
I don't have any information on any Indian connection with this family, and there are probably more people at this forum who can better answer your questions about where the Tillers came from.

My connection with the Tillers is through William Tiller (Revolutionary War Veteran) and his son - William Tiller who married Rebecca Clay. William Tiller is a brother to your Samuel Jahile Tiller (father of David Tiller).

William and Rebecca (Clay) Tiller had a son named Ira Tiller, born around 1820 who married Nancy Carter. Their son - David Anderson Tiller, b. 1850, is my great grandfather. He married Mary Jane Norton. Their daughter - Virginia Belle Tiller, b. 1889, is my grandmother and she married John Everett Durham - son of Thomas Jackson Durham and Rebecca Jane French of Tazewell County, Virginia.

Any information I have I will gladly share.
Byron Durham
