Hi Christopher,

I have John Lemuel Tiller as a son of David Tiller (b. 1814) and Sarah (Sally - b. 1816) Duty of Russell County, VA.

I have John Tiller, son of Ira Tiller and Nancy Carter, born 6 March 1855 in Mercer County, VA/WV, married to Missouri Nicketti Repass on 3 August 1898 in Tazewell County, VA. This John Tiller died 26 May 1927 in Tazewell County, VA. John and "Nicketti" are buried in the Tiller Cemetery, next to John's parents Ira and Nancy Tiller in Bluefield, VA - off Rt. 460 near Bailey Road. I have pictures of Ira's gravesite.

I also show your John Lemuel Tiller married to Celia Crabtree, on 24 August 1870 in Russell County, Va. There is a "Lemuel Tiller" (11 months) listed in the household of David and Sally Tiller in the 1850 census for Russell County, Va, and a John L. Tiller (age 20) listed in the household of David and Sarah Tiller in the 1870 census for Buchanan County, VA. The 1870 census was taken on the 18th of August in 1870 - 6 days before John L. Tiller would marry Celia Crabtree.

Am I wrong??
Byron K. Durham (a Tiller descendant)
