Hi Sally!
Thank you for contacting me! I'm sorry it has taken me so long to answer you. We are in the middle of doing some remodeling and I temporarily misplaced my password book and therefore couldn't log in to answer you email. I am thrilled that you have contacted me, I have been trying to track down someone in Uncle Ellis' family for a very long time.
As I said in my message, my grandfather was John Walter Liddell, brother of Ellis. My grandfather died in 1966. I have been working on my genealogy on both sides of my family for almost 40 years. I know that Ellis was interested in his family history because about 15 years ago I came across a message that he had left in some sort of monthly publication that had to do with the Civil War. In the message he told the regiment his father Samuel Witherspoon Liddell was in and he was asking for information on the regiment. Do you have any information on Ellis? On his parents? I have a lot of information on the siblings but when it comes to the parents I have repeatedly hit a brick wall. I find them in census records, I have Civil War records on Samuel and I have been to Lorado, Arkansas where they are buried. I have a name of someone who I think is Samuel's father but am not sure and I have been told that his middle name Witherspoon was his mother's maiden name although I am not positive about that. I have not been able to go beyond either of them and I don't have any siblings for Samuel. Samuel and Margaret have been my most frustrating couple in all of my research. In my other generations I have gone back as many as 9 generations. Do you have an interest in researching or are you interested in the family history? My dad, Joseph Clark Liddell passed away a year ago at the age of 88. He grew up in Arkansas and Missouri. He didn't know anything about his Liddell grandparents (they were dead before he was born) but he told me what he could about his uncles and aunt. The only picture I have of Ellis is one of him with his siblings taken , I think, at the time of his brother Robert's 50th wedding anniversary that my uncle Walt took.
Would love to hear from you again. My personal email address is:

Hope to hear from you!
