My Mother-in-law is a Tejerina who was born in Reynosa, MX. A long story there. We visited cousins in McCallen, Edinburg, Reynosa, Monterey, Brownsville, and many smaller towns on both sides of the border. The Tejerinas originally came from Spain and were quite wealthy in the 1890's. There was no love between different family members and the wealth was soon lost. There are still Tejerinas in Spain. I have heard of a reunion this summer in Texas but not sure when or where.
