Tijerina roots in Italy

Hello, I have just returned from a trip through Italy and actually found some roots of the last name Tijerina there...big surprise to me too. In spain I couldn't find a coat of arms for Tijerina like all the other names, but in Italy i did find people with the last name and some history of which i'm still researching. Which is part of the reason i got your page i guess. My father is Phillip Tijerina (born Felipe Tijerina in Tamazunchale, Mexico--but has lived his whole life in San Antonio, Texas). He has 2 sisters (Jane Tijerina, and Mary Cantu) and 5 Brothers (Pedro, Luis, Modesto, Danny, and Leo). His Mother was Dora Tijerina(still alive) and his Father died when my father was very young in a gasoline fire accident. I know of Felix Tijerina being a great leader of civil rights in Houston, Texas and Reies López Tijerina to be known in El Paso, Texas for burning down a court house during the civil rights movements. But other than that the name "Tijerina" holds Mexican decent and now i'm researching to find out if it has any Italian. I'm glad to see so many people looking!!
