Querido Antonio, perdona que no te haya contestado antes, he estado bastante ocupado. As I indicated in my "Tejerina genealogia" page, the name started in the hamlet of Tejerina perched in the mountains of northern Leon, Spain. According to linguistic laws names change through the ages, especially accros borders; so most probably all these variances: Tijerina,Tijerino (for a male),Tigerino (phonetic reason) come from the same source. I would certainly appreciate your input on the Tigerino branch of Nicaragua.
People surnamed Tejerina have approached me form Argentina, Chile, Peru and of course, Spain, and we are planning to have a gathering of Tejerinas in our village of Tejerina, Leon, sometime at the end of this 2001 summer, to celebrate the new millennium. How about that?
