I think there is some Cherokee there, but it must be in families that were married into.

I am told I am 1/32 Cherokee, but I don't know for sure which family related to the Tiffin line that it came from. I think it came from Long, my grandmother's side (Martha Jane Long who married James Monroe Tiffin); but I'm not sure...have found a Long who married in the mid 1800s a fellow with an Indian name...might be it. Everybody has missed my grandmother in the family histories though and I can't trace her line back for sure...even though I can see a line from the same place in MO. Or the Cherokee might have come from Graves in Alabama or NC or from some Beeson connection with Indians, they lived among them in Alabama....don't know.
