I, too, have been doing some heavy searching and came up with the same information. I went to the local library and accessed Ancestry.com and later signed up at home for a 14-day free trial, so I could research at home. The first 2 findings are the correct ones, but it revealed a question: In one listing, a daughter, Florence is listed, but in the next census, Jane is lister, but no Florence. The two girls aren't the same, because the ages don't match, but the families between the 2 censuses are the same. I'm suspecting that Florence must have died between that 10-year period, but I can't find any reference to her death yet.
James' wife, Edna Ellwood, also let go of her mysterious existence, and I found her family along with in-laws who were residing with her family. At least I now know where the recent Irish lineage comes from. My husband thought it was from the Tierney side, but it was Edna's mother who came from Ireland!
I've started a Word Family Tree using my son's name as the home person. His name is John McGregor Tierney, born 20 May 2005. I have it open to share with others, so feel free to refer to it if you need to.
Thanks again for all of your help. My brain is fried today, so I'm going to take a rest for the night...I've been researching since about 1pm and it is now after midnight.
