Tierney-Slattery
Looking to find information about my ggrandfathers' parents. His mothers maiden name was Tierney, apparently originally from Listowel. she married ? Slattery from Ennis Co Clare, both born approx late 1850s early 1860s, there were two children that I know of for definate (although there may have been more): Annie Slattery born c1880/85ish, who married a man named ? Garvey (the whale garvey) and a son John Charles slattery (Charlie, my ggrandfather)born 1883.
Annie had a daughter who married a man named ? Walker, who was in the diplomatic core. They went on to have a son who was a musician, named 'dinky' walker. Annie's daughter died at quite a young age. They all came from Ennis Co.Clare. So I am assuming that after the Tierney/Slattery marriage they moved from Listowel to Ennis.
The whole family were musically talented. Charlie joined the Royal Munster Fusiliers at age 14 till his discharge in 1909 aged 26yrs. He was presented with a silver bugle on behalf of queen victoria, which is now on show in London somewhere.
There may have been another daughter name Bridget (brigid?)but again this is not confirmed. Any help or information will be greatly received.
