I don't know much about James T. His daughter, Mary, had left the island by 1853 when she came to Minneapolis. Her death certificate lists her parents as James Tierney and Jane Tierney. It's possible that it was listed that way if Jane had the same last name both before & after she was married. We had heard back from the Mayo Heritage Centre that there were 3 James Tierneys in Inishbofin but nowhere else. We knew that Mayo was the county (from Griffiths.) We are going there in a month but have very limited time, so we may not be able to find anything more. The fees for information in that county are quite excessive & we were told that we will not have access to records. So we will concentrate more on other areas of interest. We don't know if James had siblings or if he stayed in Inishboffin.
