I am compiling a book on my family who live in Ironpool, Kilconly, Tuam, Co. Galway, Ireland.

My granduncles and grandaunts emmigrated from here in the late 19th and early 20th Century and settled in the Boston area.

One of my granduncles Martin Tierney wasn't married, I don't think, and died between 1920 and 1940.

My second granduncle Pat Tierney married and had a number of children. Some of his sons fought and died in WWII and Korea. One of his grandsons? is Joe Tierney who was prominent in Boston politics for some time. Joe Tierney's daughter is the actress Maura Tierney.

My grandaunt Mary Tierney married a Carney from Galway also. She had a number of children one of who was May Carney. May was murdered in the 1980's - she was in her 70's/80's at the time.

Another grandaunt was Sarah Tierney. She wasn't married.

I would appreciate any information that you could give me.
