Hi Jim: My g-grandfather Stephen Maroneys' brother John (1847-1893) married a Mary Ann Tierney and they live in Syracuse, NY in an area known as Tipperary Hill.
I was told by a person related to the Syracuse Tierneys that the Tierney family as well as the Maroneys (Moroney) were from Thurles, Co. Tipperary. Most info on the Maroneys say that the family is from Clare.
Any input would be appreciated. Thanks.
