Richard Tierney, 1916, Manchester, NW England

Hi, my father Ronald Francis Tierney was born in Manchester in 1916, he died 1999. He had a number of brothers (Bernard, Norman, R?), all of whom died before or during WW2; their father was Richard Tierney, born in Dunshochlun (spelling could be iffy), Co. Meath, Ireland 1867/8; Richard came over to England fairly early on, worked in a velvet factory in Nottingham, moved to Manchester, joined the Army, fought in the Boer Wars, and became a Commissionaire for a motor car manufacturer. Can you add anything please, or are we related?
