Seeking info re: Fred Lincoln Borton, b.2/8/1865(USA) d.12-07-1943 St. Joseph, MI [real name may be Tierney, Turney, Furney] he was raised by Bortons in Berrien County, MI (near Coloma/Eau Claire) since @1867 when his mother took his two older siblings and went to search for her husband (Fred's father)who was reported to have been lost in the Civil War. Fred used his 'real' surname when he married Christina Franz but document is smudged. Fred produced the following children: 1.Leslie Maude (Borton) Brenneman b.09-16-1890 d.11-20-1978, 2.Ross Borton b. 05-09-1895 d. Largo, FL?, 3.Walter Jay Borton b. 01-28?-1899 d. 04-10-1937, 4. Anna Borton b. 05-30-1901 d. @1946, 5. John Henry Borton b.12-07-1904 d.01-31-1962, 6. Lucille May Watkins b. 06-23-1907 d.12-08-1986, and 7. Katherine Borton) Bingham b.1913. I'd appreciate any links or confirnimg info. re Fred Borton, his parents, or the Bortons who may have taken him in. I also have family info on BORTON, MOUNSEY, BRAGG, BRENNEMAN, FIELD, DICKINSON, HUNT, PRATT, THAYER, DAYMON, BURNIDGE, WHITNEY as well as JOHNSON, DEWITT, SCHUNKE, STARK, BALDWIN, LANE, BOWMAN (2 adopted),BRISON, ARENZ, WICKMAN, LARSON, GUSTAFSON, and SWANSON among others; most of these surnames aren't commonly found on Web-searches - so I'd also appreciate E-mail addresses and web links to folks working on these families with relatives in MI. John Borton [jborton@earthlink.net] Thanks!
