TIERNEY - Brooklyn, NY & Olney, IL
Posted by: Catherine Rice Date: May 04, 1998 at 12:53:58

Among my grandmother's possessions, I found an old photograph of a young woman identified as KATIE L. TIERNEY. The back of the photo shows the studio name as B G BLOCK, 179 Myrtle Ave., Brooklyn, NY. I would guess that the picture was taken sometime in the late 1800s or early 1900s. Katie looks to have been in her late teens or early 20s at the time the photo was taken.

I also found a book with the following inscription written on the inside cover: J. C. TIERNEY, OLNEY, ILLS., JULY 1894.

Can someone help me to identify these people? Surnames on my grandparents side are: DONAHUE (or DONAHOE), GOGGIN, FLYNN. Any information will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
