Thanks for posting the 1901 obituary for Martin Tierney. This Tierney family are ancestors to my husband because Martin's mom was the sister of my husband's second great grandmother Mary Farley (who interestingly also married a James Tierney). How did you ever find that? Martin Tierney's mother was Bridget Farley and his father was Michael Tierney. Michael's brother William J. Tierney also drowned while a guide in the Saranac. He died one year later (6/27/1902).

Martin and Michael are buried at St. Rose of Lima's Cemetery in Union Falls, NY and the cemetery inscriptions are posted online if you search for St. Rose of LIma's Cemetery.

I would like to share information about the Tierney's.

Diana Tierney
