My great-grandmother was MARGARET H. TIERNEY (b. about 1887 in ?, d. Jan 10, 1963 in Quincy, MA).  She married GEORGE WILLIAM MCCUE.  They had five children:  GEORGE ROGER, HELEN, MARGARET, JOHN and MARY.  GEORGE WILLIAM MCUE died at a fairly young age.

MARGARET had a sister ELIZABETH TIERNEY (b. 1881 in Boston, d. March 10, 1964 in Quincy, MA) who never married; and a brother LEO E. TIERNEY.

Beyond MARGARET TIERNEY MCCUE's generation I understand that her mother's name was KATHERINE, but have been unable to confirm that.  (Maybe a link to your KATHERINE TIERNEY?)  I do not know her father's name.

ELIZABETH TIERNEY's obituary mentions that she was "a member of a large shipbuilding family and had lived in Quincy for over 70 years".   I was very interested in that comment.  Were your TIERNEY family members in the shipbuilding business?  If this was a large family, as the comment mentions, maybe we are related somehow.
