Don't have much info except we have a Laurence Tierney (b. Abt 1816) in Ireland. Parents are Paul and Bridget Tierney. Don't know about his parents but Laurence apparently immigrated to America before 1850 and settled in the Richmond VA area. He married, Mary Eleanor LaVelle (Lovel), in 1862 in Richmond. Mary was known to have immigrated from Clare Co. Ireland at a young age (~14) at about the same time as laurence, perhaps with him. Mary later married a Sullivan in Richmond where there have been Tierney's and sullivans living in the same households from 1850-1880's. In 1850 , there was a Bridget Tierney (age 38), a pauper, associated with other Sullivans and Tiarnay child paupers in Richmond VA. In 1870, a Bridget Tierney (age 49) was living in a Sullivan household in Richmond VA. Could be a coincidence! Any info on these Tierneys would be greatly appreciated.
