The following information is based on family conversations,my search and Birth, Marriage and Death Certificates.
Your Great Grandfather, my Grandfather Wilhelm Karl August Christian Tiedt born 14.6.1870 in ?Mecklenburg. Died 25.12.1951 in St.Peter's Hospital, Spital Road, Malden,Essex and cremated 1.1.52 at Ilford,Essex.
1st wife Annie Cooper-(7 Sons,1 Daughter).(?married in Ireland but unable to find record of marriage)
2nd.wife Bessie Holmes 6.4.1946.at Lewisham S.E.London. No children.
Wilhelm was a self-employed Chef, worked in Berlin,France,England and Ireland. He was interned in WW1 in Ireland and WW2 in England at 33 Belton Rd,Huyton,Liverpool. Wilhelm`s father, according to family and his marriage certificate to Bessie Holmes, was Frederick Tiedt, Veterinary Surgeon. Wilhelm's sister married Herr Stangenberg, had a daughter (?Elizabeth)lived in Madgeburg-contact lost during/after WW2.
Tiedt is a North German name and according to my German friends means "Time"!
I hope this information is helpful, I will answer any questions if I can!

Regards Joan.
