George Hermann Otto NYC-1870-NOW
Posted by: Karl A. Tiedemann Date: November 15, 1998 at 16:10:18

Hi,
I was born in Hoboken, New Jersey on 1 February 1937. My father, George Hermann Tiedemann was born in Middle Village, Queens, New York in 1892 and died in 1947. His father, Hermann Otto Tiedemann was born in Berlin (date unknown) and died in 1934 in Middle Village. Both are buried in Lutheran Cemetery, Middle Village. To speak more about my/your possible lineage contact me at my email address. I am interested in any possible relationship between my grandfather and an engineer named Hermann Otto Tiedemann who explored the Canadian west with Sir Waddington in the mid to late 1800's. Mt. Tiedemann in the Waddington range is named for him and he designed several structures in and around Vancouver.
I currently live in sunny, southern California. My sons all live in New England but only have daughters. Consequently, I would like to hear from anyone who might carry on the Tiedemann name. My half brother, George lives in Florida and has several children living in Florida and Texas.
I hope to hear from many long lost cousins, neices and nephews once, twice or thrice removed in the near future.
Love, Karl
