Checking a Ticknor Family History I found a Elijah Ticknor who married a Roxana Herrick in about 1825 and he died Cattaragus County,or Erie county,N.Y. about 1835.
I found another Roxana who married a James Gilman and resided 1839 in Onandaga County, N.Y.
This information was gathered 1919 so your greatuncle's information probably wasn't in it and also, they only followed the male line down and didn't have much info on the female Ticknors.
