My William born abt 1831 in Manchester England was the son of
William TICHBORNE & Mary DUFFY.

Wm Sr was dead by the 1861 Census in Glasgow Scotland and Mary was born abt 1792 in Ireland, d/o Patrick DUFFY & Ann MAXWELL. She died in 1867 in the PoorHouse in Glasgow of gangrene of the hand.

Wm Jr married Mary HAMILTON in Jun 1852 in Abbey, Paisley, Renfrew SCT and their family moved to Lancashire shortly before the birth of their next child, Jane, in 1868 in Liverpool. They then had children Ellen [born 1871 / died 1873 Liverpool]; Catherine b abt 1874 in Breighmet. Possibly a daughter Nancy born Little Bolton who died in infancy.

Wm died in Little Bolton in 1890 and Mary died 1893. I have info on a couple of their daughters and their marriage/children but nothing so far on any of their sons.

I have a relative who has a large original painting with the signature R TICHBORNE as the artist. It was given to them by a GR aunt whose mother was Esther Tichborne THOMASON, my GR GR grandmother!

Now, Esther did have a brother whose name was Robert Semple TICHBORNE but I have no idea what happened to him or how long he may have lived.
