I have searching for information about Andrew J Nesbit for over twenty years. He was the father of my mother inlaw Clara Nesbitt Spicer.
Andew married Lee Ann McGraw Dec. 27,1856 in Dickson County . They had two children Emma Virginia Nesbitt born Oct . 3, 1858 and died Nov.1,1958. She is buried beside Thomas Nesbitt and his wife Dorcaus McAdoo Nesbittin the Charlotte Cementry in Charlotte TN Dickson CO. Their sonErvin Nesbitt born May 21, 1861 in Dickson CO.
Andrew Nesbitt was in the civil war I have a picture of him in his uniform , I have never been able to find what branch or unit he was in .
The story told by the family is , Andrew came by the house where his wife Lee Ann ,and his young son Ervin was at , he didn't stay very long , kissed them goodbye ,rode off on his horse never to be seen or heard from again.
The information I have found concering his child hood is the court records where in 1836 Ellis Tycer was appointed his guardian an then in 1842 he renewed the bondfor Andrew. For as long as Lee Ann lived according to my mother in law she never gave up trying to find out what happened to him,
If any one has any information on Andrew I hope you will share it with me .
Hazel Spicer
