In the 1850 Census, both Israel and "Green" lived in Madison, Jay County, IN. Their father was John Tibbs and their mother was Sara. John farmed 300 acres and was 54 years old. Israel was 15 years old at this time and Green was 20 years old. Both Israel and Green were born in Ohio.

Israel died on July 25, 1878 in Harrison Co., Missouri. He was a Private in Company I of the 13th Indiana Artillery Battery during the Civil War from 1862 through February 13 (or 23) 1863 (in the service for 10 months and 27 days.) He married Sarah Jane Hollipeter on Dec. 3, 1863 in Wabash County, Indiana.

In the 1870 Census, Greenberry Tibbs (42 yrs old) was living in Jackson, Miami Co., Ind. He was farming 1600 acres and was married to Nancy and had children, Richard (19), Amanda (15), Dara (4) and ?? (7). In this census, it lists Greenberry's birth as being in Indiana.
